About Our Family – The Vision Of The Awakened Lotus Sanctuary

We are a family building with intention spiritually, physically, and generationally.

A few months ago, we made a decision that shifted everything. We sold our home, simplified our lives, and stepped into full-time travel while searching for land in the Appalachian region. Not because life was falling apart, but because something deeper was calling us forward.

We believe land holds memory. We believe children carry wisdom. We believe families are meant to grow roots, not just pay bills.

The Awakened Lotus began as a conversation between us about the kind of life we want our daughter to inherit and the changes we would like to see in the world. 

A life where food is grown with reverence. Where skills are learned by hand. Where community feels sacred, not transactional. Our spirituality isn’t about escaping reality, it’s about engaging it more consciously.

To us, stewardship is spiritual. Building with earth is spiritual. Raising a child in awareness is spiritual. We are studying regenerative practices, zoning laws, water systems, soil health, and sustainable infrastructure not as abstract ideas, but as acts of devotion. We believe the physical and the spiritual are not separate. They meet in the soil, in the breath, in the work.

The Awakened Lotus is our long-term commitment to:

• Rebuilding practical wisdom

• Creating space for families to gather and learn

• Honoring both the seen and unseen dimensions of life.

This journey is imperfect and unfolding in real time. We are learning publicly, building slowly, and choosing integrity over speed. We are not building a fantasy.
